PHOSPHATING

4 Tank Phosphating System – Up to 24” in length

Our 4-tank phosphating system designed to handle parts up to 24 inches in size is typically employed in industrial settings to enhance corrosion resistance and improve paint adhesion on metal components. Ideal applications include treating parts like brackets, chassis components, and fasteners to enhance corrosion resistance, preparing aluminum and steel components for painting or bonding and coating machinery parts to prolong service life and improve paint adhesion.

4-stage phosphating system process:

  • Alkaline Cleaning (Tank 1): This initial stage involves immersing the metal parts in a heated alkaline solution to remove oils, greases, and other contaminants, ensuring a clean surface for subsequent treatments.
  • Water Rinse (Tank 2): Parts are rinsed in clean water to eliminate any residual cleaning agents, preventing contamination of the phosphate bath.
  • Phosphate Coating (Tank 3): Parts are immersed in a phosphate solution (either zinc or iron phosphate) that reacts with the metal surface to form a crystalline conversion coating, enhancing corrosion resistance and paint adhesion.
  • Final Rinse (Tank 4): The final rinse removes unreacted phosphate solution and prepares the parts for drying or further processing.
